HOW WE COMPARE · AUGUST 2026
Compare the whole production chain.
Five capabilities decide whether a multi-market email ships correctly: compiling the brief, locking the brand, fanning out to markets, scoring the voice, and getting links, tracking and legal right per market. Ten vendors, measured against that deliberately narrow job. Product status and caveats matter as much as the checkmark; competitor claims below come from their own documentation.

One pentagon, five capabilities
We plot every vendor on the same five capabilities in Caliber’s production chain. A solid facet means the capability ships as a product. A thin facet means partial: it exists with a documented caveat or requires another workflow.
These products often go deeper than Caliber outside this narrow scope. The comparison is not a universal software score; it shows how much of the multi-market production job one purchase covers.
THE FIVE FACETS MAP THE MULTI-MARKET PRODUCTION CHAIN.
- Knak 3/5
Tier 1
Brief ingestion + 75-language fan-out. Lints voice, drops the plumbing.
- Stensul 2/5
Tier 1
Strongest brand lock in market. Scoring outsourced to Writer over MCP.
- Dyspatch 2/5
Tier 1
185 languages, POT/PO depth. No measurement, no UTMs.
- Adobe 2/5
Tier 3
The only other real scorer — and it cannot author a layout from scratch.
- Klaviyo 2/5
Tier 2
Whole chain in one vendor, no integration tax. No published score, no per-locale UTM.
- Braze 1/5
Tier 2
World-class at sending. "You must provide your own" translations.
- Typeface 1/5
Tier 3
Closest single vendor. Layouts provisioned by your CSM.
- Writer 0/5
Tier 3
Encoded style guides, copy only. Generates no email.
- Markup AI 1/5
Tier 3
Best scoring engine in market. Generates nothing.
- Stripo 0/5
Tier 4
An excellent editor at a fraction of the price. Not a production line.
The head-to-head, in their words
Sourced from vendor documentation, help centres and release notes as of August 2026. Where a vendor states a limitation themselves, we quote it rather than characterise it.

THE HONEST PART
The competitor we’d worry about
Knak is the closest full-product threat. It combines governed email creation, campaign generation, language variants, approvals and mature enterprise integrations. For many large teams, that breadth is the right answer.
Caliber’s bet is narrower: small central lifecycle teams need an operational market contract, native voice evaluation and preflight in the same production loop. That difference has to earn its place in a paid pilot, not in a comparison chart.
Read the full Knak comparison →WHAT WE DON'T DO
- 01We don't send. Your ESP does, and it's better at it than we would be.
- 02Production HTML works with any ESP. Connected Braze workspaces can push approved drafts directly through the API.
- 03Portable HTML does not remove the need for inbox-client rendering tests before a send.
- 04No design system, no Caliber. We lock to what you already have — if it doesn't exist yet, we're the wrong purchase.
