A six-week pilot that is your implementation.
The Caliber Email pilot is six weeks, and it is your brand’s implementation, not a trial. In it, your brand guide, past sends and email blocks will be set up as data, your ESP connected, and three real campaigns produced as drafts your team approves and sends. It is a paid pilot; the price is shared on the walkthrough.
Who is the pilot for?
The pilot is for CRM and lifecycle teams, from one person to a full team, and the agencies that work for them, at consumer brands that want one approved brief to become a finished, on-brand email in their ESP. Caliber is built to work for a brand that sends in one market, and the pilot can set up as many as four.
It suits a team that:
- already has a brand guide, even an informal one, and past emails it is happy with;
- sends from Klaviyo, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next, Voyado, Customer.io or Iterable;
- can name one person per market who approves that market’s email;
- has three real campaigns to run in the six weeks, and wants a clear decision at the end.
What happens in each of the six weeks?
The six weeks move from set-up to real campaigns to a decision. The first three weeks set up your brand, your markets and your ESP; the last three run real campaigns, and week 6 ends with the review against the criteria you agreed in week 1.
| Week | What Caliber does | What your team gives |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Kick-off. Your brand guide and past sends become a versioned brand profile: tone, banned words and claims rules. The exit criteria are written down with you. | The brand guide, 6–12 months of past sends, a named approver per market, and an hour to agree the exit criteria |
| Week 2 | A voice contract per market, with its market rules: legal copy, currency and formality. Your design system becomes approved email modules. The ESP connection is set up. | The email blocks you use today, the legal line counsel approved for each market, and an ESP connection set up by your admin |
| Week 3 | Calibration: 30–50 of your past emails, to be scored by Caliber and by your team until the two agree. Test sends from your ESP. A two-hour training session for the team. | Your team’s own judgement of the past emails, and two hours for the training |
| Week 4 | The first real campaign, from your approved brief to drafts in your ESP | One real brief, a review by each named approver, and the send from your ESP |
| Week 5 | The second real campaign, with what the first one taught | One real brief, the reviews and the send |
| Week 6 | The third real campaign, then the review against the exit criteria | One real brief, the reviews and the send, and the decision to continue or stop |
What does your team give?
Your team gives the material a brand is built from, and the people who approve its email. Nothing has to be rewritten for the pilot; the work starts from what you already use.
- The brand guide. Tone of voice, the words you never use, the claims you only make with proof. If the guide is thin, the brand voice guide template lists what to write down.
- 6–12 months of past sends. The emails your team already judges on brand or off brand, for the brand profile and for calibration.
- The email blocks. The modules or design system your emails are built from today, so drafts use your own blocks.
- An ESP connection. Access to the ESP you send from, set up by your own admin.
- A named approver per market. One person who knows the market and approves its email. The legal line for each market comes from your counsel; Caliber never writes one.
- Three real briefs. Campaigns you would run anyway. The email brief template has the fields a brief needs.
What does your team get?
Your team gets a brand set up in Caliber, and three real campaigns that were produced in it. The work is the implementation, so none of it is thrown away when the pilot ends.
- A versioned brand profile: tone, banned words and claims rules, taken from your guide and your past sends.
- Up to four markets set up, each with its voice contract and market rules: legal copy, currency and formality.
- Up to 30 approved email modules, built from your design system.
- Calibrated scoring: Caliber’s score will have been matched to your team’s judgement on 30–50 of your past emails.
- Your ESP connected, with test sends from your ESP and a two-hour training session for the team.
- Three real campaigns as proof. Each will arrive in your ESP as a draft, with its score and findings, approved by a named person. Your team schedules and sends them.
How the score and its findings will work is set out on how Caliber writes and scores in your brand.
How is success judged at the end?
Success is judged on your own campaigns, against criteria agreed in week 1, before the first real brief. You continue only if the drafts and their quality clearly improve on how your team works today.
The criteria are written in plain words, and each one is measured on the pilot’s campaigns:
- Time from brief to approved email. How long an approved brief takes to become an email your approvers sign off, compared with your team’s own way today.
- Review rounds. How many passes each email needs before its approver signs it off.
- Edits by hand. How much of each draft your team rewrites before approving it. The aim is drafts your reviewers approve with few edits.
- Drafts that arrive intact. Whether each approved email reaches your ESP as a complete draft, with its links and legal line in place.
No target is set in advance on this page. The numbers that count are the ones your team records in the six weeks.
What happens after the pilot?
If you continue, the brand moves onto a licence, and the workspace the pilot built is the one you keep using. The licence starts only after the pilot.
- Per brand, not per seat. The licence is annual, for one brand.
- The sign-off sets the tier. One named approver, or an approval step with a brand owner and approvers per market. The pilot’s four markets are included, and more can be added without changing the tier.
- Unlimited seats. Every tier has unlimited seats, so the whole team and every approver works in it.
- Sends are never metered. Price never grows with your volume.
- Recalibration. The scoring will be recalibrated against your recent sends every quarter.
The tiers, side by side, are on the pricing page.
If you decide not to continue at the end of week 6, no licence starts. The three campaigns were sent from your own ESP, and they stay there.
Where Caliber fits
Caliber is being built so that one approved brief becomes a finished, on-brand draft in your ESP, written from your own brand guide, with a score that shows its work and a named person signing off. Integrations: Klaviyo, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next, Voyado, Customer.io and Iterable.
Before you apply
Is the pilot free?
No. It is a paid pilot, because it is your brand’s implementation: the set-up work that turns a brand into a working system. The price is shared on the walkthrough. If you continue, the licence starts after the six weeks, priced per brand with unlimited seats.
Which ESPs can the pilot run on?
Caliber Email has integrations with Klaviyo, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next, Voyado, Customer.io and Iterable. The pilot connects the one your team sends from.
We send in one market. Is the pilot for us?
Yes, it can be. Caliber is built to work for a brand that sends in one market, and the six-week pilot sets up as many as four. A brand with one or two markets may be better served by a shorter implementation, and the walkthrough settles which one fits before anything is agreed.
Does the pilot train a model on our emails?
No. Calibration configures your workspace; it doesn’t train or fine-tune a model on your content. Your past emails are used to set up your brand profile and to check that Caliber’s review agrees with your team’s, in your workspace only.
We’re an agency. Can we run a pilot for a client?
Yes. Caliber is licensed per client brand, so each client brand gets its own pilot and its own workspace, with its own guide, blocks and approvers. Say that you are an agency when you apply, and the walkthrough covers how agencies work with Caliber.
